What I've learned is that what I describe as "playful things to think with" show up in different forms—and each form is slightly different from the other.

That said, I've observed these recurring themes:

* the cognitive benefits of tangible learning

* learning as play / play as learning

* learning as social activity

* opening & holding space for difficult conversations

* the critical importance of re-framing and shifting our perspectives
